Accessible Yoga for Women
Accessible Yoga for Women
A body-respectful, choice-centered practice from Rowan & Rose.

A slower, supportive practice for women who have not always felt at home in traditional yoga spaces. No experience or flexibility is required.
Come As You Are Yoga
Come As You Are Yoga is an accessible, choice-centered class for women who want to move their bodies without pressure, performance, or judgment.
Each class is designed as a complete practice, so you can attend regularly or begin with a single class.
You do not need to know the poses.
You do not need to keep up.
You do not need to do every movement offered.
This class provides enough structure to help you feel supported, with enough freedom to listen to your own body.
Throughout the practice, you will be offered options for different bodies, abilities, energy levels, and ranges of motion. You are always welcome to pause, rest, change a movement, or choose not to do something.
What you can expect
- Clear, steady instruction
- Options for different bodies and ranges of motion
- Time to transition between movements
- Permission to pause, rest, or change course
- No pressure to perform
- No hands-on adjustments without consent
- A slower, more supportive pace
- Space to notice what feels supportive today
A trauma-informed, choice-centered approach
This class is taught with awareness that people bring different histories, needs, and levels of comfort into movement spaces.
Your agency matters.
You remain in charge of your body and your participation. Invitations are offered rather than commands. You may keep your eyes open, change your position, step out, rest, or choose stillness at any time.
Nothing needs to be forced.
This is yoga instruction, not therapy or trauma processing. The purpose is to support choice, presence, and a more respectful relationship with your body.
This class may be a good fit if…
- You are new to yoga
- You live in a larger body
- You need or prefer movement modifications
- You are returning to movement after time away
- You have felt uncomfortable in traditional yoga or fitness spaces
- You want a slower and less performative practice
- You want to reconnect with movement without turning it into another demand
- You appreciate having choices rather than being expected to follow one version of a pose
You do not need to identify with every item on this list.
You only need a willingness to begin where you are.

About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Mendoza is a certified yoga teacher and the creator of Rowan & Rose. Her teaching is shaped by her Curvy Yoga training, body-respectful practice, accessibility, consent, and nervous-system awareness.
She offers clear guidance without expecting every body to move in the same way.
Her goal is not to help students perform yoga correctly. It is to create a steady space where women can explore movement, choice, and presence in their own bodies.
Questions you may have
Do I need to be flexible?
No. Flexibility is not a requirement for yoga. The practice will be adapted to the people in the room rather than expecting every person to create the same shape.
Do I need yoga experience?
No. Beginners are welcome. Experienced students who want a slower and more accessible practice are welcome too.
What if I need to stop during class?
You may pause, rest, change positions, step out, or stop participating at any time.
Begin where you are.
You do not have to become more flexible, more confident, or more comfortable before taking up space.
You can begin with the body, energy, and capacity you have today.
